So, it's 11:15 (Weebly was generous enough to delete my last blog post only several moments ago) and I still have three blog posts to make after this one tonight, in addition to the painting I was doing earlier that certainly isn't going to be finished by the time it is supposed to be. Let's see how much sleep I can manage. My concentration is "Characteristics of the 21st Century" which is a fancy phrase for "Robots." That being said, this picture contains no robots. |
What it does contain is a hover-sled thing in a future version of the Iditarod trail during the Iditarod. The Iditarod is the longest land race in the world, in which (traditionally) mushers get on their dogsleds (AKA Dog-powered snow chariots) and run around Alaska for a long time (9-15 days).
The Iditarod has been encountering some issues these last several years, however, as snow on parts of the Iditarod trail are beginning to melt. This is a problem if you plan to travel by sled, a mainly snowborne vessel. In my painting, the issue has worsened quite dramatically, as you can see from the abundant presence of grass in what once was the icy, barren wastelands of Alaska. In possible future, the Iditarod has struggled to find new methods to travel across the suddenly varied landscape of the Iditarod. Then a large tech company (something like SpaceX methinks) would come along and say something like "Hey Iditarod people, we just made this speederbike thing and if you used it we could give you money" and the Iditarod people would be like "Thanks fam" because the word 'fam' will have been absorbed into the English language by the time this occurs.

This was my second ever proper digital painting and it is okay. It took too long, mainly because I don't know how to use the software very well. Like, imagine somebody who plans to make a drawing, but they don't understand the fundamental bio-mechanics of their own hands and instead they try do draw by yelling at their paper. This is what I have done. But it turned out surprisingly well, except that I forgot to make the hover-sled exist in three-dimensional space. If I wanted to, I could change it; after all, I have all the tools at my disposal to do so. But I don't, so I won't. |
